Stained Glass Tiffany Lamps

If you're interested in purchasing or reproducing Tiffany lamps, than you should read this article. You're joining a community of pleased people who decorated their home and offices with high quality stained glass items. There are many styles, designs, colors and sizes that you can choose from.

Tiffany lamps appeared in North America around 1895 and they are considered a part of the Art Nouveau society. The most popular lamp is the leaded stained one. These kinds of lamps are owned by some of the must important people from the planet such as government officials, movie start or members of royalty. Even modern designers know the value of these lamps, which they use to decorate their homes and businesses.

Since these items are unique, you can use them as heirlooms for your family. These lamps have the ability of transforming the aspect of any room, as light passes through the stained glass diffusing many different colors in every direction. A usual lamp shade would only darken the lamp's light. A good quality replica of a Tiffany lamp will have the exact same characteristics as the original lamps that were actually designed for candle light.

The tiffany lamps are produced in a different way than the glass used in the past. The colors are not melted on the glass any more. Tiffany integrated the colors into the glass. The colored and swirled glass allows the manufacturers to produce very complex designs in the shades. Tiffany's glass was initially used in designing windows and later in the well known Tiffany lamps.

Mister Tiffany enjoyed the Victorian design, because he was raised in the Victorian era. The dragonfly lamps are the products that made Tiffany's work so famous. Other much appreciated designs are the Wisteria and Floral patterns. All these well-known designs are still being refinished and reproduced today.

Acquiring an original Tiffany lamp may be very hard these days, be cause of the expensive prices and the limited number of lamps that people can choose from. These lamps can only be acquired from auction houses and museums. However you can find very good affordable reproductions on the internet. You can even customize your own lamp using the Tiffany quality metal and glass processing.
